The Stringybark Short Story Award 2018

Stringybark Stories has announced its annual open-themed short story competition and is now accepting entries. With record prize money for the fifth year in a row, the organisers are offering a total value over $1175 in cash and books for the winning authors including publication in an ebook and print anthology.

The winning story will be a story of 1500 words or fewer, written for an adult (16+) audience in mind with an open theme that has some link, no matter how minor to Australia.

Cash Prizes*: 1st $500, 2nd $250, 3rd $125.
*First, Second and Third Prizes also include publication + e-book + paperback + choice of any two Stringybark anthologies (other than the Stringybark Short Story Award anthology) – value $50.
Highly Commended prize includes publication + e-book – value $150 ($5 x 30 stories).
