The Monologue Adventure is an interdisciplinary project combining literary arts, performance art and the writing community. The organisers invite all women writers to submit up to three unpublished monologues, which will be performed in rehearsed readings by emerging and established actors.
Submissions are open to both professional and non-professional writers. This year, for the 2019 competition, the organisers are extending the genres to include both non-fiction and fiction and experimental genres and comedy is also welcome. The monologues should make a loose and free reference to the theme STORMY SEAS, SAFE HARBOUR. Perhaps it is a metaphor for a journey, perhaps a relationship, perhaps a time in your life, or a moment in history.
All final writers’ submissions selected for performance will receive $100.00. All monologues performed will be filmed and you will have access to the film. All monologues performed will be published on The Monologue Adventure website. Writers retain copyright to their monologues.
