The Fellowship of Australian Writers, Southern Highlands Branch (FAWSH) is honoured to announce the inaugural Margaret Cech National Award of $1000 for a short story of between 2,000 and 3,000 words.
This competition is open to paid-up members of the FAW throughout Australia and was established in memory of one of FAWSH’s Founder Members, Margaret Cech, who was a keen author of Science Fiction who unfortunately died before she completed her major work.
The content must fall strictly within the format of Short Story and must be strictly confined to Science Fiction or Fantasy. No verse will be accepted. Entry fee $15.
Section B: Open Short Story up to 1,500 words.
Closing date: 30 June 2019
Provided you are a current financial member of FAW, living permanently in Australia and at least 18 years old, you may enter either or both of these competitions.
First Prize $250. Runner-up $100. Entry fee $10.
The content must fall strictly within the format of Short Story. No poetry or any other format will be accepted.
Entries must be original, creative and inspiring works of literary excellence. This means that spelling, grammar and presentation will be taken into consideration (American spelling will not be accepted).
