FAW Centenary Book Project

LINKS:

The Fellowship of Australian Writers was formed in November 1928 in Sydney and will celebrate its Centenary in November 2028. Early History.

To mark the occasion, a Steering Committee, led by FAW State Committee member Kath Berryman, is currently collating material for publication in a special edition Centenary Book, to be published in 2028.

In celebration of this important milestone in our history, the book would acknowledge our beginning, recent past and our vision for the future. This is an exciting opportunity for us to not only recognise the foresight of our founding members, the growth and development of the FAW, but also the achievements of our members during the 100 year ‘life’ of our organisation.

The Steering Committee is working in partnership with FAW Branches to collate branch histories, milestone moments, and interesting anecdotal pieces of past members. Also of interest would be any connections with high-profile writers who have had contact with your FAW branch.

Our aim is a book that is an engaging and comprehensive record of the growth and progression of the FAW. To achieve this aim, it is important we include as many of the histories of the current and inactive branches as possible.

Many of the branches have already submitted material – if your branch has not done so to date, or if you want to add anything to what has been submitted, please use this form to submit your material online, or alternatively send your documents and photos (with captions) by email to your branch’s Centenary Book Steering Committee contact, or to the Committee chair, Kath Berryman.
