The 2019 Dorothea Mackellar Poetry Awards for School Children

Australia’s longest-running annual poetry competition for school children.

Eligibility: Only students enrolled in Australian education facilities are eligible to enter. Entries accepted from 1st March to 30th June 2019.

Max. 80 lines; no illustrations, graphics or decorations.
Optional Theme: ‘Is There Anybody There?’.

HOW TO ENTER: ONLINE group entries from schools are preferred—coordinated, collated and submitted through a teacher or parent.

  • Junior Secondary (Years 7 – 9)

  • Schools’ Award.
