Sutherland Shire Literary Competition 2019

Australian residents 18 years and over are invited to submit their original poetry and short stories.

  • Free verse
  • Short story
  • New Category: Themed short story: 2020: Looking Back, Moving Forward

This year there is an additional fourth prize category with the theme ‘2020: Looking Back, Moving Forward’, to recognise 250 years since Lieutenant James Cook and the crew of the Endeavour first made contact with the Gweagal community at Kamay Botany Bay National Park, in Kurnell.

PRIZES IN EACH CATEGORY

  • 1st Prize $1,000
  • 2nd Prize $500
  • 3rd Prize $250

An additional Shire resident’s prize may also be awarded in each category for the best entry by a Shire resident.
