Lost and Found: A Parallel Story of Little Dino, Tina, and Lewis the Fossil Hunter.
Young children, and Lewis is one of them, love to explore the ancient world of the dinosaurs. They are fascinated by the size and variety of these creatures that inhabited the Earth during the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. The action of identifying dinosaurs, pronouncing their names, empowers them in the use of complex words and language.
Lewis even created his own dinosaur alphabet for use in an imaginary dinosaur game, hoping one day to find a real dinosaur fossil and name it is his dream.
Half of this story is set in Winton Queensland during the Cretaceous Period, where Little Dino – an imaginary small dinosaur – is lost. Tina, short for Diamantinasaurus, is a real dinosaur discovered by Scott Hocknull in 2009, looks after Little Dino. They spend time playing ‘The Roar of the Dinosaur’ game as they romp about the prehistoric forest.
