Literary Luncheon: Guest Speaker Announced

Our State President, Trevar Langlands, has announced the Guest Speaker for the Literary Luncheon to be held in November.

Trevar’s announcement:

I am very excited to announce my special guest for our November Literary Awards – The year is going fast so I do hope you Susannah Fullertonwill get your bookings in early as my guest will especially delight readers and writers alike. I have been to a talk by Susannah and can assure you she is most interesting, so you are in for a fascinating afternoon.

Susannah will have copies of her books and CD’s there for sale, so you can take home some wonderful memories.

Susannah Fullerton is the President of the Jane Austen Society of Australia, and Patron of the Kipling Society of Australia. She is the author of several books about Jane Austen, and also of Brief Encounters: Literary Travellers in Australia, a fascinating book about 11 famous authors who came to this country, showing what they thought of us, what we thought of them, and how the visit influenced their writings.

Susannah leads literary tours for Australians Studying Abroad, and has produced 2 audio CDs, Finding Katherine Mansfield and Poetry to Fill a Room. She is very well known on the Australian speakers’ circuit as a literary lecturer.

A woman of many talents and remarkable experience, Susannah presents regular series at the Art Gallery of NSW, the State Library of New South Wales, at libraries, schools and clubs.

Her most popular talks are about Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, Anthony Trollope, the Mitford family, Samuel Pepys, Vita Sackville-West, Oscar Wilde, the Romantic Poets, and Shakespeare.

She is a registered speaker for ADFAS (Australia Decorative and Fine Arts Societies). She is a regular guest on Richard Glover’s ABC Self-Improvement Wednesday programme and is often interviewed on TV and radio.
