Lismore Library Flood Appeal for Books

13 March 2022

Have you published a book? Do you want to help?

EMMA ASHMERE writes:
“As a historical fiction writer living in regional northern NSW – where the floods have devastated our community – I am so grateful for the local library service network here which supplies thousands of residents with new books, ebooks, First Nations resources, local histories, interlibrary loans from the state libraries etc and support the local readers and writers, children, parents, schools, low income residents, book launches, book clubs, access for people with disabilities, and large and small local events including the Byron Writers Festival etc. They are also a crucial community hub! Sadly Lismore Library is totally flooded.”

RUTH MORGAN writes:
“I received a letter from the Lismore library with details about location for books to be sent, and areas of the collection that were damaged. There are also details of the bank account is someone would prefer to make a cash donation instead – this money will go to the library to buy books. Any help you are able to offer to rebuild this wonderful local resource would be much appreciated. Please feel free to share with other groups. Thanking you all in advance.”
