Australian Book Review welcomes entries in the 2019 ABR Elizabeth Jolley Short Story Prize, one of the world’s leading prizes for an original short story. The Jolley Prize is worth a total of $12,500 as follows:
- First Prize: $5,000
- Second Prize: $3,000
- Third Prize: $2,000
- Three Commended entries will share the remaining $2,500
Entries must be a single-authored short story of between 2,000 and 5,000 words, written in English. Stories must not have been previously published
or be on offer to other prizes or publications for the duration of the Jolley Prize.
Cost of Entry:
$25 for non-subscribers to Australian Book Review;
$15 for current ABR subscribers and full-time students.
Entrants who are not current ABR subscribers can choose to subscribe when submitting their story for special combined rates.
