STRESS has become an integral part of our modern lifestyle. The effects of trauma, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and stress-related dysfunctions of anxiety and depression are currently a global epidemic. Trauma alters people’s lives from thrive mode to survive mode, evident as an alarming phenomenon everywhere.
What is it costing – you; your family; your business; our community; our country; our world?
In 2000, I was diagnosed with PTSD and soon set out on a mission seeking answers as to why and what could I do to overcome the effects on my well-being and ability to function properly. As I was to discover, my experiences as a Vietnam War veteran was just the tip of the iceberg.
On my journey, I have learned to recognize, manage and overcome the effects of those occurrences in my life to restore my birthright of well-being and joy – beyond what I set out to do! I know that it is indeed possible to recover and feel truly alive again!
Feeling appreciation to achieve the sense of getting my life back, in 2011 I decided to share my story with others dealing with PTSD and STRESS-related issues to gain hope and inspiration. The result is D-TOUR: My Unexpected Journey to Joy Through PTSD published by Balboa Press in February 2019. It’s my story of unexpected transformation of Self in the process of my healing.
In my book D-TOUR…
- How did I manage the symptoms of trauma and stress – anxiety and depression without the side-effects which medication caused me?
- How did I restore my well-being and joy from those disabling symptoms?
- How have I used stress to empower me?
- Where can you find the latest effective methods of treating stress and trauma?
This is a book for everyone, because of the impact affecting every one of us, directly or indirectly.
