‘The Road Less Travelled’

“Two roads diverged in a wood
and I took the one less travelled by

Robert Frost

Using the above quote as inspiration, write a creative piece with a maximum of 2,000 words. Your work can be fiction, non-fiction or poetry.

The Prizes
The winning entry will receive a $1,000 cash prize. Two runners-up will each receive a $250 cash prize. The top entries will be collated into an anthology by Better Read Publishing, which will then be sold at Better Read Than Dead.

The Judging Panel
Author Patti Miller (FAW NSW Patron) will head the judging panel again this year, along with a selection of Better Read Than Dead’s booksellers. Patti has written eight books as well as numerous articles and essays published in national newspapers and literary magazines. She has also taught literature and writing at UTS, UWS, and the Faber Academy, and currently leads memoir writing workshops for the Australian Writers’ Centre and Better Read Literary Tours.
