2017 Newcastle Short Story Award

Entries Close: 6 February 2017

Open for entries from all Australians living in Australia or abroad.

Prize Pool: Over $6000  and the top 35 works will be published in the annual anthology.

Entry fee: $16.50

The Newcastle Short Story Award is a national writing competition coordinated by Hunter Writers Centre (a not-for profit organisation since 1995).

Applications are now open for the Writing NSW Early Career Writer Grants, Emerging Writing Organisation Grants and the Writer & Technologist Grant. A total of $27,000 in funding is available to early career writers, emerging writing organisations and for a joint project by a writer and technologist.
